David and his wife Laurie reside in Ipswich, Ma. and have three children, Sam 30; Andrew 28 and Stephanie 25. David is recently retired from employment with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where he worked in the Department of Children and Families and for the Essex Probate and Family Court as a Probation Officer. David and Laurie have been married for nearly 35 years and Laurie works as a Certified Public Accountant for Silverman and Avila in Danvers, Ma.
For David’s retirement gift all he wanted was a trip to Sicily. David’s grandfather was born in Sicily and lived in the town of Falcone. David wanted to truly experience Sicily and decided to stay there for most of the month of September 2013. He and Laurie rented a house in the town of San Giorgio, Messina and truly enjoyed their stay. Two out of the three children came to visit during their stay in Sicily. They visited Falcone, traveled to Taormina, Palermo, Mount Etna, Vulcano Island and Cefalu. They enjoyed the sites and scenery of Sicily as well as the food the wine and the people.
David believes in the Sicilian Project and the hope it provides to the children of Sicily.
